Integration week: OFII Rennes at the heart of the integration scheme

This week, the focus is on the integration! This is the opportunity for Rennes’ OFII to promote and publicise its scope of intervention and the actions in which it participates.

On Monday 11 October, the national agency for adult vocational training (AFPA) in Langueux in the Côtes-d’Armor organised the final assessment of the masonry training of foreign beneficiaries of the HOPE scheme.

The HOPE programme (Accommodation, Orientation and Pathway to Employment) aims to support refugees towards employment through vocational training in shortage occupations and work experience in companies. The programme also pursues the objective of integration into society, including reinforcement in the French language. To found more about this scheme, see our previous article: The regional OFII directorate and its partners in favour of the integration.

The Côtes-d’Armor’s prefect, Thierry Mosimann, went to meet companies, social and institutional advisers and, above all, apprentice masons to discover their skills. More than the technical skills acquired, this exchange was an opportunity to develop real soft skills on the part of the trainees.

The results of the scheme in the Brittany region are more than positive. A total of 170 people were able to enter vocational training, with a good result: 85% of professional integration after 3 months, and 92% of success rate in the CCP (certificate of professional skill).

For the second part of the day, the Ille-et-Vilaine prefecture’s general secretary, Ludovic Guillaume, accompanied by Émilie Vitel, deputy regional directorate of Rennes’ OFII, participated in a civic training session.

After a brief presentation of the content of the training offered under the Republican Integration contract (CIR), Mr Guillaume spoke with each trainee individually. This was an opportunity to congratulate them on the progress they had made in French, just a few months after starting their training.

The beginning of a big week to highlight the daily work for the integration of refugees in France.
