Visit of the Minister of the Interior to Tunisia

On the occasion of a joint trip to Tunisia with his German counterpart, Mr. Gérald Darmanin visited “Oh my coffee!”, a reintegration project supported by the OFII.

He spoke with the business owner, Mr. Iheb Ben Chemkha, who was in an irregular situation in France before receiving help with reintegration through the creation of an economic project.

Mr. Darmanin then learned about the career of Ms. Siwar Ben Hamed, who left for France as a young professional. As part of assistance for reintegration through employment, she had a career for five years in the private sector, before joining the THAMM OFII project as coordinator in charge of employability.

Then the minister listened attentively to the director of the OFII representation in Tunisia, who discussed the representation’s core missions and the OFII’s involvement in technical cooperation projects on reintegration assistance (ProGreS) or circular migration (THAMM OFII).
