The 10th Anniversary of OFII in Armenia
Since 2014, the OFII representation in Yerevan has been assisting Armenian and Georgian migrants who choose to voluntarily return and reintegrate into their home countries. This support system focuses on their medical-social reintegration, professional training for re-employment, or the creation of self-sustaining economic activities, fostering sustainable conditions for reintegration.
OFII’s involvement in Armenia began with the European project Targeted Initiative in Armenia (TIA) and was formally established in 2014 with the creation of the OFII representation within the French Embassy in Armenia.
Over the years, the geographical focus has shifted, but even a decade later, the core mission remains the same: to robustly support Caucasian nationals in France as they decide to return to their homeland.
Since 2014, nearly 4000 reintegration projects have been supported by the OFII representation in Yerevan. These projects share common elements: passage through France and the choice to return home with dignity and support.
On the occasion of this anniversary, a memorandum was signed between the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, represented by Ms. Anna Zhamakochyan, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, and Mr. Fabrice Blanchard, Deputy Director General of OFII, under the framework of the reintegration support project.
Both parties celebrated the strengthening of ties between the two countries and the new opportunities presented by this collaboration.
