OFII in action – The OFII Territorial Directorate in Créteil receives the Prefect with a delegated responsibility for Equal opportunity reporting to the Val-de-Marne Prefect

As part of its missions, the French Office for Immigration and Integration (OFII) is committed to republican equality and cohesion.

On 20 April 2022, the Territorial Directorate in Créteil received Mathias Ott, the Prefect with a delegated responsibility for Equal opportunity reporting to the Val-de-Marne Prefect.

The OFII’s Territorial Directorate agents are actively involved in the reception and integration

This field visit was an opportunity for the OFII Territorial Directorate in Créteil to introduce its work regarding reception and integration matters.   

Received by the Territorial Directorate team, the Prefect was able to:

• visit the OFII Directorate Territorial premisses;
• attend an assessment interview on the reception needs of an asylum seeker;
• interact with OFII auditors and Val-de-Marne Prefecture GUDA agents;
• meet with nurses working at the health division as well as with the return agent and visit the immigration office;

These conversations helped him acknowledge OFII agents’ full dedication on site to ensure the inclusion of different beneficiaries of the measures implemented by the OFII.

Joint work perspectives on training related issues for migrants

Following this visit, the Prefect praised the quality work performed by OFII and its agents. He also expressed the wish to be present at a civic and language training session, another initiative developed by the OFII. A positive interest that demonstrates the joint perspectives between the missions of both OFII and the Prefect with a delegated responsibility for Equal opportunity.
