OFII at the heart of the exfiltration operation from Afghanistan
Since last Wednesday, OFII staffs have been deployed at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport.
Since Wednesday, August 18, there has been a succession of flights from Afghanistan to evacuate French nationals and Afghans threatened by the Taliban takeover.
The OFII is greatly involved. During each landing, its agents are in charge of orienting the arrivals towards the different stages of reception process. Some agents who speak Pashto, Dari or Urdu are called upon for interpretation. They are supported by an interpreting service.
Since the beginning of the operation, more than 1,000 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan during these 6 successive flights.
