OFII and Pierre Claver Sign Partnership Agreement
To meet the diverse needs of signatories of the Republican Integration Contract (CIR) and help them overcome the many obstacles to lasting integration and promote their autonomy, the OFII works closely with various partners.
It is in this context, and after several months of discussions, that the OFII and the Pierre Claver association have signed a partnership protocol for the “Entreprises-Claver” program.
The Pierre Claver association offers voluntary refugees courses that facilitate their social and professional integration, strengthen their autonomy—a key element of integration—while involving the private sector and civil society in this national effort.
In this regard, this partnership aims to mobilize the French economic sector to offer refugees innovative language training, general culture workshops, and mentoring, in addition to the priority and mandatory training provided for by the CIR.
In practice, companies participating in this initiative will have to host classes of refugees on their premises and allow their employees to devote 1 to 2 hours per week to teaching French, transmitting the culture and laws of the host country, and serving as individual mentors.
As part of this partnership, the OFII undertakes to highlight the Claver association’s offer and promote the efforts of companies, mobilizing their human and material resources to foster the integration of foreigners, through the signing of a charter.
Each year, a steering committee, composed of the various signatory members, will evaluate the company’s investment. After analyzing the actions carried out during the year and verifying compliance with the Charter and the company’s commitment, the OFII will award the company a distinction in the form of an “OFII Partner” logo. This logo, confirming the partnership between the actors, can be used and mentioned in their communications.
Although the project’s objective is to deploy integration classes in companies nationwide, one class is already open for applications. It offers B1-level French courses and general culture workshops, facilitated by Vinci employees on the company’s premises in Nanterre.
