Integration week: the Employment and Professional Integration Forum in Bordeaux
This Tuesday, 12 October, was held in Bordeaux the Employment and Professional Integration Forum, for beneficiaries of international protection in the region. It was organised by the OFII, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine SGAR (General Secretariat for Regional Affairs) and the platform Infodroits.
On this occasion, 28 OFII agents from the Limoges, Bordeaux and Poitiers regional offices were mobilised. All day long, they welcomed the refugees and guided them through the exhibition hall.
Overall, more than 700 refugees made the trip.
The aim of this forum was to put in touch the refugees seeking employment and the employers of the region in various activity fields, such as security, agriculture and sport.
The associations Ovale Citoyen and Pass’sport pour l’emploi were there to offer the public the opportunity to try out different sports, such as boxing, rugby or yoga.
The event concluded with a visit from the Prefect of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region, Fabienne Buccio, who recognized the success of this event, and a roundtable discussion moderated by Krystel Le Lay-Caroff (OFII territorial director in Limoges), where refugees who are now fully integrated into French society could speak. Their diverse backgrounds were all inspiring stories for the audience.
