Application for residence permits for medical care – 2021 report to Parliament
The OFII medical service publishes the 5th edition of the report to Parliament on medical opinions for applications for residence permits for medical care for the year 2021.
Since January 1, 2017, the OFII medical service has evaluated 140,000 applications for residence permits for medical care, with an annual increase in the percentage of favorable opinions: this rate was 51.3% in 2017 and reached 60.4% in 2021, for an average rate of favorable opinions of 57.1% over 5 years. This increase in the favorable opinion rate is associated with a constant decrease in the number of annual applications, particularly for first-time applications. In 2021, this decrease in applications is 36.9% compared to 2017 (27,702 applications).
France thus has a unique system in the world that is more favorable and goes well beyond the obligations that apply to European countries.
