A successful economic reintegration in Armenia
After six years in Germany, the Armenyan family was able to benefit from the Franco-German CAROB (Cooperation on Assistance for Reintegration OFII – BAMF) project to voluntarily return to their country of origin and reintegrate economically.
The CAROB program, which consists of a cooperation between the OFII and the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), aims to facilitate the return and reintegration of Armenian migrants from Germany.
Upon their return home, Mr. Armenyan was received by the OFII representation in Armenia. He was able to share his desire to start building a greenhouse to grow vegetables. Although Mr. Armenyan has a solid background in management and accounting, he specifically needed the technical and financial support of OFII. The project was selected.
Mr. Armenyan involved all members of his family and today they manage a 700 m2 greenhouse where radishes, tomatoes and red basil are grown. Based on the income from his business and with the help of the Armenian government, he plans to expand his business with the construction of a greenhouse for soilless crops and another for growing strawberries.
This project would not have been possible without the agreement and financial support from OFII. But local support as well as aid provided by the Armenian government also contributed to the success of this project.
